Major World strives for residential development on Northern Boulevard. On September 25, 2019, City Planning unanimously approved an application to rezone the property located at 44-01 Northern Boulevard in Long Island City, Queens. The applicant, 44-01 Northern Boulevard, LLC (also known as Major World), seeks to change the zoning from a manufacturing district to allow for a ten-story mixed-use residential development. DEP Announces Updated Rules for Watershed Recreation Use
New rules include an expanded recreational boating season and an e-cigarette ban. On May 31, 2019, the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) published the final updated rules governing recreation access to over 137,000 acres of water and the surrounding watershed lands. The rules were created to protect the water supply and promote outdoor recreation and go into effect on June 30th.
DCP Announces New NYC POPS Logo
The winning logo was chosen from 607 submitted designs from around the world. On May 20, 2019, the Department of City Planning, the Advocates for Privately Owned Public Space and the Municipal Art Society of New York unveiled the new NYC POPS logo, which will be displayed at all 550 POPS locations across the city.
