On October 17, 2023, the Landmarks Preservation Commission voted to calendar the Tremont Branch of the New York Public Library for future designation. The library, located at 1866 Washington Avenue in the Bronx, is one of the 67 circulating libraries created with funding by Andrew Carnegie.
On September 25, 2023, Mayor Eric Adams appointed Elijah M. Hutchinson as the new executive director of the Mayor’s Office of Climate and Environmental Justice.
On September 8, 2023, the Parks Department was joined by elected officials, community members, and menswear Les Deux to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the newly renovated basketball courts in Washington Market Park in Tribeca. The park is located on Chambers Street between West Street and Greenwich Street.
On August 31, 2023, Mayor Eric Adams announced “Text with Eric,” a new communication initiative that will enable New Yorkers to receive text message updates about the administration and new services and to send responses about their thoughts with the city.
