On September 7, 2023, the New York City Mayor’s Office and New York City Department of City Planning released plans for new affordable senior homes and a revamp of St. Andrew’s Playground in Central Brooklyn. The departments’ objective was to further their ‘Atlantic Avenue Mixed-Use Plan’ by building in a zone of Brooklyn that has been stifled by restrictive zoning regulations.

City Planning Launches Interactive Map Reflecting Community and City Council District Overlaps
On September 7, 2023 the Department of City Planning released an interactive map showing Community and City Council districts overlap after the 2023 redistricting. This data allows communities to access information about who now represents them after the redistricting this year. The map also shows the proportions of changes to districts following the redistricting. This is the first time that communities can access data in an interactive map format.
Parks Celebrates Newly Renovated Basketball Courts in Tribeca
On September 8, 2023, the Parks Department was joined by elected officials, community members, and menswear Les Deux to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the newly renovated basketball courts in Washington Market Park in Tribeca. The park is located on Chambers Street between West Street and Greenwich Street.
