Today, Thursday March 2, 2023, Meera Joshi, Deputy Mayor for Operations, spoke at the 185th CityLaw Breakfast. Deputy Mayor Joshi spoke on “The Foundation of Success: NYC’s Infrastructure and Core Services.” Professor Ross Sandler, Director of the Center for New York City Law, provided opening remarks. Dean and President of New York Law School Anthony W. Crowell joined for a closing discussion. This breakfast was sponsored by ConEdison, Verizon, and Greenberg Traurig LLP.

In her address, Deputy Mayor Joshi discussed how handling operations involves an ongoing consideration of multiple relevant factors, and figuring out how to navigate around obstacles to move projects forward. Some highlighted projects and initiatives she spoke about included how the City is handling the BQE; food waste and organics collection and changing of times for trash collection; and pursuing changes to scaffolding and sidewalk shed regulations.
