NYCHA Announces Financing Secured for Manhattanville Houses PACT Renovation Project

On December 12, 2024, the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) announced they secured $445 million to renovate the Manhattanville Houses Complex, revitalize existing shared spaces, and improve building infrastructure. This project is anticipated to be completed in three years.

A Closer Look: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Loses Presidential Election Ballot Challenge in New York

In August, an Albany state supreme court judge ordered that Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.  be removed from the state’s ballot as a presidential candidate. The court ruled that Kennedy’s nominating petition included the “wrong address” for his “residence” under New York law. City Planning Commission Votes to Approve Nine-Story Mixed-Use Building in Sheepshead Bay

On June 26, 2024, the City Planning Commission voted to approve the 3033 Avenue V Rezoning application. The application enables the construction of a nine-story mixed use development. The project is located in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn and the current site consists of a one-story commercial building with eleven businesses on the north side of Avenue V between Ford and Coyle Streets. City Expands Trash Containerization Rules to Most Residential Buildings

On October 11, 2023, New York City’s Department of Sanitation Commissioner Jessica Tisch and Mayor Eric Adams announced the next phase of Mayor Adams’ war on rats: a new multi-part plan requiring residential buildings to begin securing all trash in waste containers. City Reveals Atlantic Avenue Mixed-Use Plan to Bring Affordable Housing and Open Space to Central Brooklyn

On September 7, 2023, the New York City Mayor’s Office and New York City Department of City Planning released plans for new affordable senior homes and a revamp of St. Andrew’s Playground in Central Brooklyn. The departments’ objective was to further their ‘Atlantic Avenue Mixed-Use Plan’ by building in a zone of Brooklyn that has been stifled by restrictive zoning regulations.
