Image Credit: HPD/Services for the Underserved.On May 24, 2023, the Department of Housing Preservation and Development joined project partners Services for the Underserved and Bronx Pro Group LLC to celebrate a housewarming for the newly opened Jerome Court redevelopment. Located at 1769 Jerome Avenue in the Morris Heights section of the Bronx, the space was transformed from a two-story single-use occupancy building to a 16-story mixed use building with supportive and affordable housing.

Court upholds verdict that City at fault for man who drowned in pool

Parents of deceased son win damages against the City. On July 13, 2011, Bohdan Vitenko drowned in Lyons Pool in the Tompkinsville section of Staten Island. Lyons pool is owned and operated by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. Mayor Announces $6 Million Investment to Rehabilitate City’s Newest Landmark

On May 23, 2023, Mayor Eric Adams announced a $6 million investment to rehabilitate the former Colored School No. 4, the city’s newest landmark which was designated earlier that day. The school building, located at 128 West 17th Street in Chelsea, is the last remaining school building that exclusively served African American students. East Drive is a three-lane roadway in Central Park with the left lane reserved for pedestrians, the middle lane designated for cyclists, and the right lane for motor traffic.
