Parks Department Celebrates Holiday Season With Light Displays Across City

The light displays offer local options for those who can’t or choose not to see typically more crowded options like the Rockefeller Center tree. On December 11, 2020, the Parks Department announced that this holiday season, New Yorkers can enjoy local light displays at Parks administrative buildings and parks around the city. This season, Parks will host over 80 lighting displays across the City.

Parks Dept Unveils Upgraded Playground in Spuyten Duyvil

The upgrades include native plants and accessible water sprays. On August 31, 2020, NYC Parks Bronx Borough Commissioner Iris Rodriguez-Rosa, New York City Council Member Andrew Cohen, New York State Assembly Member Jeffrey Dinowitz, and Bronx Community Board 8 Parks Chair Rosemary Ginty unveiled a $1.2 million upgrade to Spuyten Duyvil Playground in the Spuyten Duyvil neighborhood of the Bronx.

The campaign stresses the importance of keeping shared green spaces clean during the pandemic. On August 28, 2020, NYC Parks announced a new campaign to address excessive littering in parks across the City since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Outdoor Youth Sports to Return to NYC Parks
