Two condominiums adjacent to Franklin Place, a mid-block alley in lower Manhattan, asked that Franklin Place be designated as a fire apparatus access road in order to prohibit parking next to condominiums. City Officials Break Ground on New Park in the Bronx

On November 30, 2023, Parks Commissioner Sue Donoghue and New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) President and CEO Andrew Kimball joined elected officials to celebrate the groundbreaking of a new park in the South Bronx. The new park, located on Exterior Street between 144th and 146th Streets, will bring waterfront access and new open space for local Bronx residents. 



City Expands Trash Containerization Rules to Most Residential Buildings

City Planning Commission Votes to Approve “City of Yes for Carbon Neutrality”

On September 11, 2023, the City Planning Commission voted to approve the City of Yes for Carbon Neutrality zoning text amendment. The amendment is the first of the City’s three proposed City of Yes zoning text amendments to pass the City Planning Commission. The City of Yes amendments aim to remove or change outdated parts of the zoning text that hinder the development of housing, economic growth, or the implementation of green technology and infrastructure.
