The City College of New York and the Mount Sinai Health System will build new spaces dedicated to startups. Last month, Mayor Eric Adams and the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) directed $15 million to the City College of New York (CCNY) and $11.6 million to the Mount Sinai Health System (Mount Sinai), of a total $1 billion committed to NYCEDC’s LifeSci NYC initiative. Both awards will go towards construction of new spaces geared towards providing startups with resources. Adams and NYCEDC are confident that such startups will benefit the city in turn. (read more…)
June is the city’s fifth consecutive month of continued private sector job growth. On July 22, 2022, the NYC Economic Development Corporation (EDC) announced in its monthly Economic Snapshot that 22,100 private sector jobs were added in June in NYC. (read more…)

The new facility is expected to open in 2026. On July 6, 2022, the New York City Economic Development Corporation (EDC) announced that city officials broke ground on the new NYC Public Health Laboratory, located adjacent to the Harlem Hospital complex on West 137th Street in Manhattan. While the (EDC) is managing the building’s construction, the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) will operate the laboratory upon its completion. (read more…)

The Bronx Museum, a cultural hub, is looking for a creative partner to help modernize the Bronx Museum. On July 7, 2021, the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) released a Request for Proposals to solicit plans from interested architects to design a new South Wing Atrium and entrance for the Bronx Museum of the Arts in the Concourse Village section of the Bronx.
