On February 2, 2023, the City Council voted to approve a rezoning that would enable the redevelopment of the Reform Temple of Forest Hills to a ten-story mixed-use building that includes a new temple and residential space. The Reform Temple of Forest Hills is currently located at 71-11 112th Street in Forest Hills, Queens. (read more…)

On December 21, 2022, the City Council voted to approve three bills that would improve transparency with the Parks Department’s capital projects process and utilize small or micro spaces that can be used for beneficial green space. Int. 673-2022 would entitle renters over the age of 60 to full legal representation at no cost. On September 7, 2022, the New York City Council’s Committee on Aging held a public hearing on Introduction 673-2022. The bill would entitle renters over the age of 60 to full legal representation at no cost in cases of eviction or termination of tenancy, as well as require the Department for the Aging to provide financial assistance and a housing support program for those at risk. On September 29, 2022, the City Council approved a rezoning for the Halletts North development in Astoria, Queens. The mixed-use development, located at the intersection of 27th Avenue and 3rd Street, consists of three towers with 46,509 square feet of waterfront public access area along the East River. The development will be 986,000 square feet total, with 962,800 square feet of residential space, 1800 square feet of commercial space, and a 21,500 square foot community facility. (read more…)
