Mt. Pleasant: Town Board Challengers Ask For Court Conference
Attorneys for the voters challenging Westchester County’s town board over vote dilution issues under the state’s voting rights act have asked Judge David Everett of Westchester County State Supreme Court to schedule a conference to resolve a dispute between the challengers and the town’s Industrial Development Agency. On April 8, 2024, Governor Kathy Hochul announced $412 million in bonds and subsidies to create and preserve nearly 1,100 affordable homes statewide, including four projects in the Bronx and Brooklyn. The awards are part of the Governor’s five-year $25 billion housing plan to preserve or create 100,000 affordable homes statewide with 10,000 supportive homes.
On November 2, 2023, Mayor Eric Adams and Department of City Planning Director Dan Garodnick celebrated the City Council passage of the South Richmond Zoning Relief plan. The relief plan will simplify zoning procedures for homeowners in the Special South Richmond Development District on Staten Island.
