City Announces New Rule Prohibiting Vendors on City Bridges
On January 3, 2023, the Department of Transportation announced new rules that restrict vending on city-owned bridges. Under the new rules, vendors will not be allowed to sell on pedestrian walkways, bike lanes on bridges and bridge approaches. The rule was made in part to address the excessive crowding on the Brooklyn Bridge.

City Planning Hears Application for New Affordable and Supportive Housing, Arts Center in East Harlem
On November 29, 2023, the City Planning Commission held a public hearing for an application to create a mixed-use 100 percent affordable building at 101 East 118th Street in East Harlem. City Breaks Ground on New Phase of Affordable Housing Development in Hunts Point
On November 29, 2023, the Department of Housing Preservation and Development, the New York City Housing Development Corporation, and the New York City Economic Development Corporation joined the development team to celebrate the groundbreaking of the next phase of the Peninsula, a 100 percent affordable housing mixed-use campus in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx. The development team included Gilbane Development Company, Hudson Companies, MHANY Management Inc, and Wells Fargo.
