Public Design Commission Announces Election of Deborah Marton as President

DDC Announces Completion of Restoration of Staten Island Supreme Court Building Front Steps
On July 18, 2023, the Department of Design and Construction announced the completion of a $5.2 million restoration of the front steps of the Staten Island Supreme Court building. The courthouse, located at 18 Richmond Terrance in St. George, is a historic landmark. The courthouse was designated in March 1982. The French Renaissance-style temple-fronted building was designed in 1913 by Carrere & Hastings.
City Launches “Clean City Alliance” to Keep Sidewalks Clean

Buildings Announces Return and Expansion of Summer No-Penalty Inspection Program
Buildings has conducted thousands of inspections since the program’s launch in 2005. On June 21, 2023, the Department of Buildings announced the return of the No-Penalty Inspection Program, which offers property owners the opportunity for a free, no-penalty visual inspection of certain parts of their property. The program encourages property owners to take proactive steps in ensuring their property is safe.
