HPD Announces “Just Home” Project For Critically Ill Recently Released Rikers Detainees

With approximately 70 studios, the development will house patients with medical needs like congestive heart failure and end-stage renal disease after they leave jail. City Announces Start of Construction for 103 Affordable Unit Development in Mount Hope

The $55 million mixed-use development in Mount Hope will house 103 low-income and formerly homeless New Yorkers. On July 20, 2022, NYC Mayor Eric Adams and New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced the beginning of construction on an affordable housing development in Mount Hope, Bronx. HPD Releases Initial Results of 2021 Housing and Vacancy Survey

On May 17, 2022, the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) released some initial results of the 2021 New York City Housing and Vacancy Survey. The survey is the official source of the city’s net rental vacancy rate, which is used to determine the continued need for rent stabilization. From its start in 1965, the survey is the longest running housing survey in the United States.
