HPD Announces New Affordable Senior Housing in Crown Heights

On June 22, 2023, the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), and the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) announced plans to develop 200 affordable senior homes in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. The project, called Weeksvillage,  will be developed by CAMBA Housing Ventures (CHV) on underutilized NYCHA land within the Kingsborough Houses campus.

HPD Celebrates Opening of New Affordable Building with 275 Units in East New York

The building includes a community center with a variety of programs to promote economic growth and youth development. On October 4, 2022, the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) joined other city agencies, MHANY Management, Urban Builders Collaborative and Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation to celebrate the opening of Chestnut Commons Apartments in East New York, Brooklyn. HPD Celebrates Opening of 375 Affordable Unit Development in Greenpoint

On April 3, 2024, the Department of Housing Preservation and Development, the New York City Housing Development Corporation, elected officials and project partners celebrated the opening of 35 Commercial Street, a new affordable residential development that is part of Greenpoint Landing in Brooklyn. Greenpoint Landing is a 22-acre site along the East River waterfront that is being master-planned and developed by Park Tower Group, and is expected to have 5,500 total residential units once completed. 

HPD Releases Request for Proposals to Find Tenant Organizing Groups for Partners in Preservation Program

On March 22, 2023, the Department of Housing, Preservation and Development (HPD) announced the release of a request for proposals (RFP) for tenant organizing groups to expand the Partners in Preservation program. The program preserves rent-regulated housing units and supports tenant organizers who work with the agency and tenants to fight harassment, displacement, and poor living conditions.
