The building will be in two wings, and features 52 spaces of stacked parking in the cellar. On April 13, 2022, the City Planning Commission held a public hearing for an application for a mixed-use residential and commercial building at 4541 Furman Avenue in the Wakefield section of the Bronx. The rezoning site is on a portion of the block bounded by East 240th Street, a line 300 feet north of East 239th Street to the south, White Plains Road to the west, and Furman Avenue to the east. The project site is currently an underutilized warehouse. Several non-conforming buildings on the block would also be brought into conformance with the rezoning. The rezoning area is adjacent to the elevated No. 2 subway line that runs along White Plains Road. (more…)

On April 11, 2022, the Department of City Planning announced the launch of the new Equitable Development Data Explorer website. The site provides users with data regarding housing, demographics, public health, and other data to compare across neighborhoods in assistance with fairer city planning. (more…)
Today, April 8, 2022, Department of Social Services Commissioner Gary P. Jenkins spoke at the 178th CityLaw Breakfast on “Combating Homelessness.” Professor Ross Sandler, Director of the Center for New York City Law, provided opening remarks. Dean and President of New York Law School Anthony W. Crowell joined for a closing colloquy. This Breakfast was sponsored by ConEdison, Greenberg Traurig, and Verizon. This was the twelfth virtual CityLaw Breakfast as in-person events are not feasible at this time due to the COVID-19 pandemic. (more…)
