Lesbian Herstory Archives Calendared for Individual Landmark Designation

Already located within the Park Slope Historic District, the building will now be considered for a designation as an Individual Landmark. On June 28, 2022, the Landmarks Preservation Commission voted to calendar the Lesbian Herstory Archives for designation. Located at 484 14th Street in Park Slope, Brooklyn, this French Renaissance Revival-style rowhouse was constructed in 1908 and has housed the Lesbian Herstory Archives since 1991.


Landmarks Votes to Designate Two Historic Districts in Cambria Heights

The historic districts are the first designations from Landmarks in Cambria Heights. On June 28, 2022, the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission voted to designate Cambria Heights-222nd Street Historic District and Cambria Heights-227th Street Historic District. Brooklyn’s East 25th Street Historic District Receives Historic District Marker

The markers commemorate Flatbush’s first historic district. On December 8, 2021, the Landmarks Preservation Commission revealed the historic district marker that will commemorate the East 25th Street Historic District in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. LPC Holds Public Hearing for Two Proposed Historic Districts in Cambria Heights

Residents raised concerns about the cost and difficulty in maintaining special details and features. On September 14, 2021, the Landmarks Preservation Commission held a public hearing for two proposed historic districts in Cambria Heights, Queens. The Cambria Heights-222nd Street Historic District and the Cambria Heights-227th Street Historic District are both well-preserved examples of the Tudor Revival and Storybook styles and of the 1930s suburban expansion in Queens. 


Landmarks Holds Public Hearings for Holyrood Church, Educational Building

Support for landmarking included a push for further preservation of the area south of Union Square. On March 23, 2021, the Landmarks Preservation Commission held public hearings on two proposed landmarks located in Manhattan.
