Council OKs budget increases for 10 BIDs

BIDs receive over $3.1 million increase in annual spending. On November 28, 2007, the City Council passed a local law to increase the annual budget for 10 business improvement districts and one special assessment district. The increases will require property owners within these districts to pay more into their BID or SAD.

Midtown hotels to be built on platforms over rail line

Developer plans two hotels with 354 rooms on platform above Amtrak. SCW West LLC applied for a special permit to allow development of two hotels on a platform to be built over two active, below-grade Amtrak rail lines and a vacant through-lot located west of 10th Avenue in Manhattan. Broadway theater gets green light on air rights

Theatre obtains expanded air rights after Commission modifies plan. Allen Goldman, of Fifth Street Holdings, LLC and SJP Residential Properties, sought to increase the air rights available for sale from the Hirschfeld Theatre on West 45th Street through a text amendment application.
