On June 22, 2023, the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), and the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) announced plans to develop 200 affordable senior homes in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. The project, called Weeksvillage, will be developed by CAMBA Housing Ventures (CHV) on underutilized NYCHA land within the Kingsborough Houses campus. (more…)

On November 15, 2022, City agency and elected officials joined the Gotham Organization for the announcement of the completion of Gotham Point, a new housing development in Long Island City. The North Tower, the final part of the development, is located at 1-15 57th Avenue. (more…)

On October 7, 2022, the Department of Housing Preservation and Development joined City officials and community members to celebrate the opening of the Bishop Rene A. Valero Senior Residence at 23-11 31st Road in Astoria, Queens. The facility was developed by Catholic Charities Progress of Peoples Development Corporation, the affordable housing branch of Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens. (more…)

On May 5, 2022, the Department of Housing PReservation and Development (HPD), the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) and the New York City Housing Development Corporation (HDC) announced plans for a new development to provide affordable housing for seniors in the Morrisania section of the Bronx. The Sol on Park development will be located on the corner of St. Paul’s Place and Park Avenue within the Morris II public housing development. Sol on Park’s theme is “housing is health; health is housing,” which incorporates and promotes health lifestyles in the development’s design and features. The development team consists of NRP Group, Foxy Management, and Selfhelp Realty Group, along with Magnusson Architecture and Planning. (more…)

The building features multiple green spaces for seniors. On September 29, 2021, the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) announced the ribbon cutting of a new 100 percent affordable senior housing development at 1490 Southern Boulevard in the Crotona Park East section of the Bronx.
