Landmarks Chair Retires After 31 Years With Agency

On August 15, 2025, the Landmarks Preservation Commission announced that Landmarks Chair Sarah Carroll will retire after 31 years with the agency. 

Carroll joined Landmarks in 1994 as the agency’s Public Information Officer. She also served as a Landmarks Preservationist, Director of Preservation, Executive Director, and then became Landmarks Commission Chair in 2018. She was the first Landmarks staff to be appointed as the head of the agency.

DDC and Dept. of Health Celebrate Completion of Bushwick Health Center Renovation

On April 25, 2025, the Department of Design and Construction and Department of Health and Mental Hygiene celebrated the completion of the Bushwick Health Center renovation project. The Center is a three-story building that offers community health services including workshops for expecting families, diabetes education, assistance with health insurance, and teen programming. Primary care and social services are also offered by partners in the building.



City Celebrates Moore Park Renovation in Corona

On March 26, 2025, New York City Commissioner Sue Donoghue and other critical stakeholders process of the $4.25 million renovation of the William F. Moore Park located in Corona, Queens. This project was funded by Councilmember Moya and Borough President Richards. In total, the City Parks department will be conducting $34 million worth of park renovation projects in Councilmember Moya’s district. Some of these projects include Caminiti Park, American Triangle, and Park of the Americas.
