DOT, DEP, and DDC Finish $4.7 Million Infrastructure and Sidewalk Renovation Project in Westerleigh, Staten Island
On February 27, 2024, the NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), NYC Department of Transportation (DOT), and NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC) announced the completion of an infrastructure project in Westerleigh, Staten Island. The project upgraded water mains and sanitary sewers, added new storm sewers and improved roads and sidewalks. The entire project cost the City $4.7 million which was $1 million less than predicted and the project was finished on time.
DOT Celebrates Ten Years of Vision Zero
On February 15, 2024, the Department of Transportation celebrated the ten-year anniversary of the Vision Zero safety program, the City’s ongoing efforts to reduce and prevent deaths and serious injuries from traffic accidents and crashes. DEP Reports Customers Saved Over $2.1 Million Through Autopay Enrollment Initiative
On November 21, 2023, the Department of Environmental Protection announced that customers who enrolled in autopay through the autopay enrollment incentive program saved over $2.1 million. Autopay allows customers to pay bills automatically, preventing future delinquencies.

DOT Starts Construction of Protected Bike Lane and Other Safety Improvements Along Tenth Ave in Hell’s Kitchen
On August 23, 2023, the Department of Transportation announced the start of construction on the first phase in redesigning Tenth Avenue to implement various pedestrian and cyclist safety measures. The safety improvements will be implemented along Tenth Avenue between West 38th and West 52nd Street.
