DEP Announces Incentive Credit for Autopay Enrollment

On August 16, 2023, the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) announced a $100 incentive credit for customers who enroll in autopay by November 15th.The goal of the program is to reduce the amount of physical paper bills given to customers by using autopay and help keep accounts current. Currently, approximately 12 percent, or 100,000 customers, are enrolled in autopay.


Lesbian Herstory Archives Calendared for Individual Landmark Designation

Already located within the Park Slope Historic District, the building will now be considered for a designation as an Individual Landmark. On June 28, 2022, the Landmarks Preservation Commission voted to calendar the Lesbian Herstory Archives for designation. Located at 484 14th Street in Park Slope, Brooklyn, this French Renaissance Revival-style rowhouse was constructed in 1908 and has housed the Lesbian Herstory Archives since 1991.


City Announces Opening of Rooftop Farm in Staten Island to Reduce Flooding, Grow Produce

Mayor Appoints Anita Laremont as City Planning Commission Chair

Laremont has worked with the Department of City Planning since 2014. On September 23, 2021, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that Anita Laremont will serve as the next Chair of the City Planning Commission and Director of the Department of City Planning. The appointment is effective immediately, and Chair Laremont succeeds outgoing Chair Marisa Lago, who will be joining the U.S. Department of Commerce after being selected by the Biden Administration.
