Mayor Announces Settlement with Landlord Over Illegal Evictions and Unlawful Short-Term Rentals

The property will be turned over to the City to be converted to affordable housing as part of the settlement. Comptroller’s DOB Audit Reveals Failures to Combat Illegal Curb Cuts and Driveways

Buildings facilitated the installation of illegal curb cuts and driveways by approving work permit applications that did not meet Zoning Resolution requirements. On July 1, 2021,  New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer released an audit of the Department of Buildings, finding widespread deficiencies in Buildings’ efforts to combat illegal curb cuts and driveways.

City Announces Illegal Fireworks Task Force and July 4th Fireworks Celebrations

The Macy’s Fireworks announcement comes on the same day as the creation of an illegal fireworks task force.
