City Receives Over $120 Million in Grants for Queensway and BQE Projects
On March 13, 2024, New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced the City’s acceptance of two federal grants worth a total of $123.6 million. City Receives Over $10 Million in Grants to Support Electrification of Governors Island Ferry, Operation of Staten Island Ferry
On December 1, 2023, Mayor Eric Adams announced that the city has received over $10 million from the U.S. Federal Transit Administration to support ferry services to Staten Island and Governor’s Island. The funding includes a $7.5 million grant to install shoreside rapid charging infrastructure for the new hybrid-electric Governors Island Ferry and $3 million to rehabilitate the City’s Department of Transportation offsite storage facility that supports the Staten Island Ferry.
Landmarks Awards 2023 Preservation Grants
On October 25, 2023, the Landmarks Preservation Commission announced the seven latest grants from its Historic Preservation Grant Program. These recipients each received between $24,000 and $62,500 for restoration work, including removal of lead paint hazards. Recipients also receive hands-on technical assistance from Landmarks staff throughout the project.
