    Mayor Appoints Jessica Tisch as New DSNY Commissioner

    The announcement comes with a $11 million investment in restoring full alternative side parking and cleaning of protected bike lanes. On April 18, 2022, Mayor Eric Adams announced the appointment of Jessica Tisch as the new Commissioner of the Department of Sanitation. (more…)

    City Planning Launches Equitable Planning Tool After Public Feedback

    On April 11, 2022, the Department of City Planning announced the launch of the new Equitable Development Data Explorer website. The site provides users with data regarding housing, demographics, public health, and other data to compare across neighborhoods in assistance with fairer city planning.  (more…)

    DOB Releases Second Annual Construction Safety Report

    On March 28, 2022, the Department of Buildings released its next construction safety report for the calendar year 2021. The report highlights and provides analysis for safety trends across the city, provides data regarding incidents and provides descriptions of significant construction incidents, including all nine construction-related fatalities from 2021.  (more…)

    DDC Begins Restoration on Landmarked Staten Island Supreme Court Building

    On March 30, 2022, the Department of Design and Construction (DDC) announced the start of a restoration project for the Staten Island Supreme Court Building, located at 18 Richmond Terrace in St. George, Staten Island. The courthouse, a French Renaissance style temple-fronted limestone building, was built in 1913 and designated a New York City landmark in 1982.  (more…)
