On April 15, 2024, Mayor Eric Adams and Department of Social Services Commissioner Molly Wasow Park announced the launch of a new pilot program, “Project Home,” that will provide intensive specialized housing search assistance for permanent homes for domestic violence survivors with children who are currently in city shelters.
Through Sunday, April 14, 2024, the City Council welcomes New Yorkers to vote during Participatory Budgeting Vote Week to determine how $24 million in capital funding from the Fiscal Year 2025 budget will be spent among 24 Council districts. Participatory budgeting funds focus on improving public spaces like schools, parks, and libraries or helping beautify city streets.
On March 19, 2024, the City Council voted to approve multiple land use applications in Yorkville, Manhattan, and Brownsville and Williamsburg in Brooklyn.
On March 18, 2024, Mayor Eric Adams announced that New York City received $77 million in grants through the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to expand the number of electric school buses and trucks citywide and the creation of the nation’s first freight electric vehicle charging hub.
On March 5, 2024, Matthew Ketschke, President of Con Edison of New York, spoke at the 191st CityLaw Breakfast on “New York’s Clean Energy Future.” Ross Sandler, Professor and Director of the Center for New York City Law, offered opening remarks.
