On June 16, 2022, the Landmarks Preservation Commission announced the launch of “Pride: Celebrating LGBTQ+ Landmarks”. On May 5, 2022, the Department of Housing PReservation and Development (HPD), the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) and the New York City Housing Development Corporation (HDC) announced plans for a new development to provide affordable housing for seniors in the Morrisania section of the Bronx. The Sol on Park development will be located on the corner of St. Paul’s Place and Park Avenue within the Morris II public housing development. Sol on Park’s theme is “housing is health; health is housing,” which incorporates and promotes health lifestyles in the development’s design and features. The development team consists of NRP Group, Foxy Management, and Selfhelp Realty Group, along with Magnusson Architecture and Planning. (more…)

The fire displaced five non-profits and shut down a community hub. On October 5, 2021, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced a plan to reconstruct 70 Mulberry Street in Chinatown. The City-owned building, which is a historic cultural and community hub for Chinatown, suffered severe damage from a fire in January 2020. (more…)
