City Officials Break Ground on New Park in the Bronx

On November 30, 2023, Parks Commissioner Sue Donoghue and New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) President and CEO Andrew Kimball joined elected officials to celebrate the groundbreaking of a new park in the South Bronx. NYCHA Announces Heating Improvements Made as Heating Season Closes

NYCHA sustained performance improvements and furthered investments in heating infrastructure over recent heating season. On May 31, 2023, the New York City Housing Authority (Housing Authority) announced that it had continued to improve the performance of heat and hot water systems for its residents, while also making significant investments in heating infrastructure during the 2022-2023 heating season, which runs from October 1 to May 31.


City Announces Expansion of Harlem River Greenway to the Bronx

On March 22, 2023, Mayor Eric Adams announced a plan to expand the Harlem River Greenway to the Bronx. Greenways are linear open spaces on public land available for pedestrian and cycling use and provide communities access to greenery. The expanded route will provide communities in the west Bronx with access to the waterfront via off-street paths and on-street bike facilities. The route will expand to seven miles, connecting Randall’s Island to Van Cortlandt Park.
