City Planning Commission Certifies, Starts Public Review Process for Bronx Metro-North Station Area

On January 22, 2024, the City Planning Commission launched the public review of the Bronx Metro-North Station Area Plan. The plan compliments the development of four new Metro-North stations along the East Bronx in Parkchester/Van Nest, Morris Park, Hunts Point, and Co-Op City. The stations will be added to the New Haven line and are expected to open in 2027. 


DOT Celebrates Livingston Street Redesign for Improved Service

On January 10, 2024, the New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez announced the completion of Downtown Brooklyn’s Livingston Street redesign. The redesign has created close to a mile of new bus lanes and intersection redesign between Boerum Place to Flatbush Avenue. Remembering Michael Horodniceanu, 1944-2023

Michael Horodniceanu, our friend and former colleague, passed away on June 22, 2023. Michael Horodniceanu left a massive legacy of public and private achievements. His engineering and management skills and leadership as president of the MTA Capital Construction Company allowed the MTA to successfully complete the Number 7 extension and the Second Avenue subway.


Mayor Celebrates 20th Anniversary of 311

On March 9, 2023, Mayor Eric Adams celebrated the 20th anniversary of the launch of 311, the city’s platform for New Yorkers to seek assistance and information. The service launched in March 2003 and has taken over 525 million contacts via phone, texts, social media, chat support, and website and mobile app submissions. DOT Cuts Ribbon on Completed Improvements Outside Pelham Bay Park Station in the Bronx

On January 23, 2023, NYC Department of Transportation Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez joined MTA President Richard Davey, elected officials and transportation advocates to celebrate the completion of transit improvements around the Pelham Bay Park station in the Bronx.
