Complete Video from the East Midtown Rezoning Panel

On Thursday, July 16, 2015, the Center for New York City Law and Center for Real Estate Studies at New York Law School hosted a panel on the East Midtown rezoning.  The panel consisted of Dr. Michael Horodniceanu of the MTA, Chris Sameth of Kuafu Properties, Jeffrey Holmes of Woods Bagot Architects, Dirk Hrobsky of DTZ, and was moderated by Manhattan Chamber of Commerce chairman Ken Biberaj.  The keynote speaker was City Councilmember Daniel Garodnick.

Councilmember Garodnick, Chairman Biberaj, and the panelists were welcomed by Anthony Crowell, Dean and President of New York Law School.  Councilmember Garodnick discussed the progress of the East Midtown rezoning to date with the Vanderbilt Corridor rezoning, as well as the proposed second phase of the development.  The panelists ranged in discussing topics from developing commercial districts with attractive public areas, leveraging private development to facilitate public infrastructure investments, the need for modern office space to keep pace with both other areas of the city and other global cities, and took questions from the audience.
