Something Old and New: Post-Employment Restrictions
Panelists: Alex Kipp, Chad Gholizadeh

As with every change in Administration, 2021 will see a high volume of questions from public servants seeking to transition into the private sector. This session will cover the post-employment rules on job-seeking for current City employees and on the conduct of former public servants. Included in the discussion will be an examination of recently adopted Board Rules on post-employment.

1:00 pm. – 1:05 p.m. Break

Period 2
1:05 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. (55 mins)

Something New, then Something Old: Fundraising Rules for City Agencies, and a Review of Restrictions on Political Activity
Panelists: Alex Kipp, Chad Gholizadeh

Recently adopted Board Rules set forth clear guidance for agencies seeking to fundraise for not-for-profits as well as the required disclosure regime. The first half of this session will review these rules.

In the second half, we will review Chapter 68’s rules regarding political activities. While the prohibitions are largely the same, the Board has seen a surge of questions this year, for obvious reasons.
