The Fair Share NYC: Restaurants Program helps to provide funds to restaurants that were hit hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic by connecting them to federal grants. On April 28, 2021, Mayor Bill de Blasio and the Department of Small Business Services announced the launch of Fair Share NYC: Restaurants. Four New York City leading scientific research facilities are receiving infrastructure grants to advance innovation and public health. On January 21, 2021, Mayor de Blasio announced that Columbia University, Montefiore-Einstein, the New York Stem Cell Foundation, and Rockefeller University are the four winners of $38 million in infrastructure grants for research and development departments. These grants come as a part of LifeSci NYC, a $500 million project with the goal of establishing New York City as a public health capital. (more…)

On September 26, 2023, Mayor Eric Adams and Parks Commissioner Sue Donoghue announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service awarded $15 million to the City to plant and maintain the City’s trees. (more…)

On August 1, 2023, Mayor Eric Adams announced the successful enforcement against safety violations found in over 5,000 apartments through an agreement between the city and four landlords that have resulted in almost $500,000 in civil penalties, and required the landlords to resolve all outstanding violations and comply with Local Law 1, the New York City Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Act. On September 15, 2022, Mayor Eric Adams announced that the Hunts Point Produce Market was selected for a $110 million U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) grant. This federal funding will be used to upgrade and improve the Produce Market’s facilities, strengthening critical freight movement and improving the environment, public health, and quality of life for the Hunts Point community.
