Extension to Mount Morris Park Historic District Designated

Commission decided to retain boundaries as originally presented, after considering questions raised at July hearing. On September 22 2015, the Landmarks Preservation Commission voted to designate the Mount Morris Park Historic District Extension, composed of the 276 properties on six blocks. The new district adjoins and shares a development history with the existing Mount Morris Park Historic District, designated in 1971.


New Six-Story-Plus-Penthouse Hotel Would Lie Partially Within Historic District

New 12-story Building will Retain Facade of Previously Demolished Tenement

Commission asked applicants to integrate fragment of building that was otherwise demolished for 1980s enlargement. On June 9, 2015, the Landmarks Preservation Commission voted to approve an application to construct a new building at 807 Park Avenue in the Upper East Side Historic District. Addition to Tammany Hall Approved after Reduction in Size

Contemporary dome would sit atop restored neo-Georgian building facing Union Square. On March 10, 2015, the Landmarks Preservation Commission voted to approve the construction of an addition, as well as façade renovations, to the former Tammany Hall building at 44 Union Square East, an individual City landmark. Landmark first considered a proposal for the site in November of 2015.


Potential Historic District Supported by Elected Officials and Community Boards

Radical Redesign Wins Approval for Development of Vacant Lots

Applicants amended plan to feature primarily masonry façade, in light of criticism of previous glass-faced plan.  On January 14, 2014, the Landmarks Preservation Commission voted to approve a plan from DDG Partners to develop two adjacent, triangular-shaped lots currently used for parking, located at 100 Franklin Street in the Tribeca East Historic District.
