HPD, HDC, HCR Celebrate Groundbreaking for Stevenson Square Project to Bring 1000 Affordable Units to the Bronx

On March 1, 2024, the New York City Department of Housing Prevention and Development (HPD), New York City Housing Development Corporation (HDC), and the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal (HCR) celebrated the groundbreaking for Stevenson Square in the Soundview section of The Bronx. The $1 billion construction project, in conjunction with Camber Property Group, will build affordable homes in furtherance of the ‘Housing Our Neighbors Blueprint’ initiative.




HPD Announces Partners for Development of 360 Affordable Units in Stapleton

The project is in the area of the Bay Street Corridor Plan. On October 13, 2021, the Department of Housing Preservation and Development announced the development team for the Stapleton Site A project. The city-owned site located south of Hannah Street in Stapleton, Staten Island, will be transformed into a mixed-use development with 100 percent affordable housing. The site is currently a vacant lot.


First HomeFix Project Helps Make Critical Home Repair in Canarsie

The HomeFix project helps to provide affordable financing and loans in order to help family homeowners make necessary repairs. On May 10, 2021, the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development announced the first rehabilitation project completed by the HomeFix project. The HomeFix project is a program that provides affordable financing for essential home repairs in small family-owned properties located across New York City.
