City Announces Completion of Transportation, Infrastructure Upgrades Along Pelham Parkway in the Bronx

On December 27, 2023, the Department of Design and Construction, Department of Transportation and the Department of Environmental Protection announced the completion of the second and final phase of reconstruction along Pelham Parkway in the Bronx. The project was managed by Design and Construction for Transportation and Environmental Protection.


DOT and DDC Complete Select Bus Service Route Safety and Infrastructure Upgrades

The upgrades include new traffic signals, traffic islands, new water mains, fire hydrants and curb extensions along the route. DOT, DEP, and DDC Finish $4.7 Million Infrastructure and Sidewalk Renovation Project in Westerleigh, Staten Island

On February 27, 2024, the NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), NYC Department of Transportation (DOT), and NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC) announced the completion of an infrastructure project in Westerleigh, Staten Island. The project upgraded water mains and sanitary sewers, added new storm sewers and improved roads and sidewalks. The entire project cost the City $4.7 million which was $1 million less than predicted and the project was finished on time.


DDC Announces Reopening of Stuyvesant Cove Park Following Renovations and Resiliency Upgrades

On May 31, 2023, Department of Design and Construction Commissioner Thomas Foley,  Economic Development Corporation Executive Vice President Josh Kraus, elected officials, and community leaders celebrated the opening of the northern section of Stuyvesant Cove Park. The opened section of the park runs from East 20th Street to East 23rd Street along the East River; the remaining section of the park from East 18th Street to East 20th Street is expected to open this summer. 


City Completes Drinking Water Upgrades for City Island Residents

Two new water mains were placed under Eastchester Bay. On July 20, 2022, the NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Commissioner Rohit T.
