Environmental review challenge dismissed

State Supreme Court ruling allows City to continue the construction of ballfields on Randall’s Island. In July 2006, the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation concluded its environmental review and found that constructing 34 new ballfields and reconstructing 31 existing ballfields on Randall’s Island would not significantly impact the environment.

DEP Announces Incentive Credit for Autopay Enrollment

On August 16, 2023, the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) announced a $100 incentive credit for customers who enroll in autopay by November 15th.The goal of the program is to reduce the amount of physical paper bills given to customers by using autopay and help keep accounts current. Currently, approximately 12 percent, or 100,000 customers, are enrolled in autopay.
