Program

There will be a wide variety of offerings, including sessions on the newest proposal for State Ethics Reform, Ethical Issues in Lobbying, Government Initiatives in Anti-Corruption, Recent Developments in the Conflicts of Interest Law, and others.

8:00am – 8:25am – Registration

8:30am – 9:00am – Plenary Session

9:00am – 9:30am – Session 1 :  Primer on Chapter 68

This session is the only offering for the first period.  In this short session, we will cover all the basics of Chapter 68 of the City Charter, priming participants for more in-depth discussions in the second and third periods.

9:30am – 9:45am – BREAK

9:45am – 11:00am – Session 2 – Four offerings

– Ethical Issues in Lobbying
– Legal Ethics: A Comparative Look between the Rules of Professional Conduct and Chapter 68
– The Ethics Ad Agency Game – in this class, participants will break into groups, each one taking on a different aspect of the Conflicts of Interest Law.  Each group’s job is to create a successful ad campaign that conveys both the letter and spirit of the law.
– Know-it-All – in this trivia-night-themed session participants will compete in teams to answer questions about Chapter 68 and City history, as well as face other types of creative team challenges.

11:15am – 12:30pm – Session 3 – Four Offerings

Government Initiatives in Anti-Corruption
State Ethics Reform
