Welcome to CityLand at https://www.citylandnyc.org/ (the “Website”). CityLand respects the privacy of its users and Contributors and strives to foster a community that will increase the understanding and discussion of New York City’s land use issues. We believe in mutual respect for the use of each other’s private information. This Privacy Policy discloses how CityLand collects, uses, and shares information gathered about users on the Website. CityLand will take steps to use personal information only in compliance with this Privacy Policy.

USER INFORMATION.
 CityLand gathers user information in three primary ways:

1. Information gathered, related to user activity on the Website and;

2. Information posted by the user.

INFORMATION RELATED TO USER ACTIVITY.
 All user activity on the Website (“activity” may include but is not limited to page views or comments on articles) may be automatically collected. Activity may be archived indefinitely and republished at any time by CityLand. CityLand does not collect and will not display information about user browsing habits.

CityLand, like most websites, collects non-personally identifying information made available by web browsers and servers. This information may include but is not limited to browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visit to the Website. CityLand servers also collect Internet Protocol (IP) Addresses and other potentially personally identifying information. CityLand may track and collect IP Addresses in order to ensure the integrity of the security system. Access to IP Address information is limited to those who require the information to provide and manage the Website. CityLand complies with applicable laws and industry standards when transferring, receiving and storing this information. CityLand may collect aggregated statistics about users visiting the Website  .

INFORMATION POSTED BY USERS.
 CityLand provides commenting opportunities for users to engage in discussion about various land use issues. Users who upload “User Submissions” such as comments, messages, files, photographs, hyperlinks, and any other visual or textual content ,should be aware that any personally identifiable information can be read, collected, or used by other users. CityLand is not responsible for the personally identifiable information users post and takes no responsibility to publish, take down, remove or edit any such information within User Submissions.

PROTECTION OF PERSONALLY IDENTIFYING INFORMATION.
 CityLand discloses personally identifying information only to those of its employees, agents and affiliated organizations who require the information to provide and manage the Website. CityLand will not sell, rent, or authorize access of personally identifying information to anyone. CityLand discloses personally identifying information when required to do so by law to comply with a court order or subpoena; enforce and investigate potential violations of the Terms of Use, including use of the Website to participate in activities that violate the law; or protect the rights, property or safety of others.

SCOPE OF THIS AGREEMENT AND THIRD PARTY WEBSITES. Although this agreement applies to the entirety of information obtained by you for the purpose of accessing or using site content, it does not apply to other websites that are not owned or controlled by CityLand.

This Website contains links to other third party websites. Please be aware that CityLand does not claim any responsibility for the privacy practices of these third party sites. We encourage you to be aware when you leave our site and to take reasonable precautions when sharing your personally identifiable information on third party websites.

PRIVACY POLICY CHANGES.
 CityLand reserves the right to modify all or some of this Privacy Policy at any time without notice. CityLand will use information only in accordance with the Privacy Policy under which the information was collected unless given explicit authorization from the appropriate users to do otherwise. Continued use of the Website   after any change in this Privacy Policy constitutes acceptance of such change.
